Meet Marquita L. Nash 
The Vision Behind Firm Foundations

Marquita Nash isn’t just good with numbers—she’s a powerhouse of purpose, persistence, and transformation. Born and raised in Milwaukee, WI, Marquita was the only child in her family—but she carried enough ambition for a whole crew. She graduated from Rufus King High School with top academic honors and a natural ability to lead, but her real story started when she began juggling full-time work while studying part-time at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Her major? Accounting—because even then, she knew understanding money was a game-changer.

 

After earning her associate’s degree, Marquita stepped into her first accounting role at Rexnord Industries. It was supposed to be a starting point—but what she quickly realized was that, without the “right” credentials, there was a ceiling she couldn’t break through. So, she did what bold women do: she bet on herself. She packed up and moved to Jacksonville, Florida, on an academic scholarship to finish what she started.

 

In 2018, Marquita graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s in business administration (Accounting) from Jacksonville University—and came right back home to Milwaukee ready to level up. She joined We Energies as a Financial Analyst and immediately enrolled in grad school. By 2020, she had earned her master’s in finance Analysis from UW-Milwaukee—not just for a better job, but because she was on a mission: to understand finance deeply so she could teach it powerfully.

Marquita has since poured that passion into the classroom, holding Adjunct teaching roles at Alverno, Wisconsin Lutheran, and Marquette University. But the classroom was just the beginning. Her real calling? Creating a space where financial literacy isn’t just taught—it’s lived, shared, and celebrated. That’s how Firm Foundations Incorporated was born.

 

Marquita’s story is about more than credentials and job titles—it’s about building a life with intention, turning knowledge into impact, and helping others do the same. She’s not just teaching people how to manage money—she’s showing them how to shift mindsets, build confidence, and secure the kind of stability that lasts generations.
